Website Coding - Website Review 7
- The company website I chose to review was Hostinger.com: Hostinger.com.
- When I went to validate this page, it showed 333 errors and 10 warnings.
- If I were to have a domain for my own portfolio it would be: jessiwendlandt.com. I have considered having my own life
coaching business at some point in the future. Given my husband's business, New Leaf Sculpture & Design, LLC, I and would
like to call my business, "New Leaf Transitions", since I would focus my work on helping people and students with transitions
in life. For this business, I would seek the domain: newleaftransitions.com.
- Turns out both jessiwendlandt.com and newleaftransitions.com are available domain names! I do believe I will be purchasing
at least newleaftransitions.com in the near future. If either of these become taken, jwendlandt.com would be available too,
but not nltransitions.com (my alternaive idea for my life coaching business). I could consider newleaftransitions.biz as that
is available at the moment.
- I would give the design of the Hostinger website a 9. How the images and information were displayed/organized as you scroll
down keeps the website interesting. Their prioritization seemed like good business showcasing deals first, then reviews
(of course good ones), and then some of the most popular plans. I appreciated I could see a summary of most popular features
for each plan, but then could expand to see all of the features provided. The button near the top to select language was neat!
Sharing positive experiemces/stories can be powerful, and Hostinger.com sprinkles stories of customers throughout their
website. I did not rate it a 10 because as a desktop user, the website seemed a bit overwhelming at first glance.
- I would give the usability of this website also a 9. The navigational menu was basic and helpful. I personally did not appreciate
how much scrolling I needed to do on the home page, but we live in a "scrolling" culture so I don't think it would be a disadvantage to most people.
I found all the information I needed for Discussion 7 more easily on the Hostinger website versus some other company sites I looked at. It was helpful
I could hover over most of the features to learn more about them as well. Overall the website was easy to navigate and
understand.
